First Attempt, Here we are, coming up to 2 years of trading as BostonPlates and the times call for a Blog, For 2 geezers, getting a little longer in the tooth than we like to admit, this does all feel like it should be something one of our kids do...... but they wanted paying so here we are.
We guess an intro is probably the place to start. Matt and Rob are in the business of
retailing used cars. We stocked cars which would need new Number Plates and Keys and so we invested in the Printers and Tooling required. Soaked up all the training available and set out to work on our own retail cars, Not to the public just an in house kind of thing. After a while people heard what we could do and started to ask if we could help, or could we do certain styles of Plates for them. At that moment BostonPlates was born.
Building steadily with Plates, Keys and a couple of other products we realised that we would need to do something with the company and that is when we registered to have Limited status with Companies House. That was October 2024. Thanks to our great customers our first financial year blew us away, We are certainly not buying any private islands but the performance gave us the confidence that we might be able to make something of this and since then we have developed more products to offer. Our Aim is to give our customer base a little bit of the experience and knowledge we have gained from our long time in the motor trade. We like to think we have tried and tested pretty much every product related to vehicles. We have experienced the good ones, the bad ones and of course the expensive mistakes. Using this we know what is good and what good looks like and so we set out to stock and offer the best we have found, of course offering fantastic value. It was actually quite easy for us. We looked at what we use and went out to find BostonPlates versions, speaking directly to factories from around the world to produce the products to a standard as good as or in most cases better than is currently available in the market. We intend to keep developing our range and brand in the future, Who knows were BP will go next. However we also realised that we need to offer choice and what better way to build our brand than alongside others and that takes us all the way up to today. We don't want to preach to our customers that ours is the best (Although we believe it is), We know it will take time and the customers who have already trusted us and our products are saying great things, its just until we have more exposure and more of BP's Product out there our customer base will only slowly grow. We also need to make sure we attract new custom to us. Thats where partnering up came in. We wanted to offer some choice to our customers but maintain our values of having great products at great value. Products that do what they say they do or even better so it was the easiest decision ever to become an official stockist for Duel Autocare. This Manchester based company is British based, Award winning and have a massive customer fanbase. Credit where it is due they make great detailing products. We wanted to be able to offer that to our customers. Stocking their range and bringing it to our little corner of Lincolnshire is exciting. We have other products and product lines coming so watch this space and as of now we have renamed ourselves BostonPlates Autocare Centre with the aim to continue growing to create our own little vehicle accessories and care retailer.
Well thats probably going to be the longest Blog post we ever write but you never know. Finally it feels right to say thanks to every one of our customers to date and everyone who has supported us to this point. After all this post literally wouldn't exist with you.
