BP Comps Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the operation of the skill-based prize competition (“Competition”) operated by [BostonPlates LTD operating as BP Comps of 47 London Road, Kirton, Boston, Lincolnshire, UK. PE20 1JB (“Promoter”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By entering the Competition, entrants agree to be legally bound by these Terms.

2. Eligibility
2.1 The Competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 years or over.
2.2 Employees of the Promoter, their immediate families, agents, or anyone professionally connected with the Competition are not eligible to enter.
2.3 The Promoter reserves the right to require proof of identity, age, and eligibility.
2.4 Entries made on behalf of another person will not be accepted.
2.5 The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entries or disqualify entrants where there are reasonable grounds to believe these Terms have been breached.
3. Nature of the Competition
3.1 This Competition is intended to be operated as a skill-based prize competition.
3.2 To enter, participants must correctly answer a skill-based question.
3.3 The question is designed to require a level of knowledge, judgement, or skill sufficient to prevent the Competition from being classified as an unlawful lottery under the Gambling Act 2005.
3.4 Only entrants who correctly answer the competition question will be entered into the prize draw.
3.5 The Promoter reserves the right to vary the competition question provided the revised question remains skill-based.
3.6 Online entrants will be charged the full entry cost for the given competition whether the question is answered correctly or incorrectly.
4. How to Enter
4.1 Entries may be submitted via www.bostonplates.co.uk/pages/bp-comps-homepage
4.2 To enter the Competition, entrants must:
- Complete the online Checkout form;
- Complete the skill-based question;
- Purchase one or more entries at the stated ticket price; and
- Complete payment successfully.
4.3 Each purchased ticket with the correct answer equals one entry into the draw unless otherwise stated.
4.4 The maximum number of entries per person is 50 unless otherwise specified.
4.5 Entries that are incomplete, illegible, fraudulent, automated, or submitted in breach of these Terms will be void.
4.6 The Competition opens at the time the competition is live at www.bostonplates.co.uk (“Opening Date”) and closes on the date stated on the competition page (“Provisional Closing Date”). All Closing Dates are provisional and may be subject to extension as per these terms and conditions. Once a "Guaranteed Closing date" is stated online at www.Bostonplates.co.uk, The competition will close and a draw made. Entries received after the Guaranteed Closing Date will not be counted.
4.7 The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network, or server failure.
5. Free Entry Route
5.1 In accordance with applicable UK law, a free entry route is available.
5.2 To enter for free, entrants must send their:
- Full name;
- Postal address;
- Email address;
- Telephone number; and
- Correct answer to the skill-based question
- Confirmation of the Competition the entry is regarding
by post by First or Second Class to:

5.3 Postal entries must be:
- Sent on a postcard or unenclosed letter;
- Submitted individually;
- Legible; and
- Received before the Closing Date.
- Create a free online Account at www.BostonPlates.co.uk and confirm acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
5.4 Free postal entries will receive one entry into the draw and must be received prior to the close of the competition. Free Postal entries will be processed the day of receipt by the Promoter and allocated a ticket number from what is available. If all tickets are already issued the postal entry will not be included in the draw. Maximum entry per person limits stated above (4.4) apply.
5.5 Bulk entries, mechanically reproduced entries, or entries sent through third parties will not be accepted.
5.6 Proof of posting does not constitute proof of receipt.
6. Ticket Pricing and Payments
6.1 Ticket prices are as stated on the Competition website.
6.2 All payments must be made in pounds sterling (GBP).
6.3 Payments are processed through third-party payment providers. The Promoter does not store full payment card details.
6.4 Purchased entries are non-refundable except:
- Where required by law;
- If the Competition is cancelled by the Promoter; or
- Where the entrant is otherwise entitled to a refund under these Terms.
7. The Prize
7.1 The prize is:
Stated on the competition page and entry purchase receipt.
7.2 The prize is non-transferable and no cash alternative will be offered unless otherwise stated.
7.3 The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with a prize of equal or greater value where circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control make it necessary to do so.
7.4 Any images used to promote the Competition are for illustrative purposes only.
7.5 The winner is responsible for any costs or expenses not expressly included as part of the prize.
7.6 The Promoter is not responsible for any Warranty or Guarantee for the Prize once the Prize has been delivered. The Prize will be covered by Manufacturer Warranty/Guarantee for the winners peace of mind and any concern should be directed to them.
8. Winner Selection
8.1 All eligible entrants who correctly answer the skill-based question will be entered into a random draw.
8.2 The draw will take place within 7 days of the Guaranteed Closing Date. However the Promoter will make every possible effort to make the draw as quickly as possible.
8.3 The draw may be conducted using:
- A random number generator;
- Independent software; or
- A manual draw process.
8.4 The result of the draw is final.
8.5 The Promoter may appoint an independent adjudicator or observer.
9. Winner Notification and Prize Claim
9.1 The winner will be contacted using the contact details supplied at entry.
9.2 If the winner cannot be contacted, fails to respond within [7] days, is ineligible, or declines the prize, the Promoter reserves the right to redraw a new winner.
9.3 The Promoter may publish the winner’s surname and county in accordance with UK advertising and consumer protection requirements.
9.4 Entrants may object to or limit such publication by contacting the Promoter. The Promoter may nevertheless provide winner information to the Advertising Standards Authority or other regulators if legally required.
10. Cancellation and Amendments
10.1 The Promoter reserves the right to cancel, amend, suspend, extend, or terminate the Competition where necessary due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
10.1A The Promoter further reserves the right to extend the Competition Closing Date and/or draw date at its sole discretion where required for operational, commercial, regulatory, technical, or other reasonable reasons. Any such extension will be published on the Competition website or relevant promotional channels. Where Guaranteed Draw dates are stated on the competition, this date is final and the draw will be made, irrespective of ticket sales/entrants.
10.1B By entering the Competition, entrants acknowledge and accept that the draw date may be extended and that the Competition may continue beyond the originally advertised Closing Date.
10.2 The Promoter reserves the right to cancel any Competition that has not achieved at least 65% of available ticket entries sold by the advertised Closing Date.
10.3 In the event that fewer than 65% of ticket entries are sold, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion:
- Extend the Competition for a further period of up to 14 days in an attempt to reach the required ticket threshold; or
- Cancel the Competition and issue full refunds to all eligible paid entrants.
10.4 Any refunds issued under these Terms will be processed using the original payment method wherever reasonably practicable. These refunds will be processed within 7 working days.
10.5 If the Competition is cancelled, the Promoter may alternatively:
- Refund purchased entries; or
- Award the prize from eligible entries received prior to cancellation,
where permitted by law and at the Promoter’s discretion.
10.3 Any material changes to these Terms will be published on the Competition website.
11. Fraud, Abuse, and Disqualification
11.1 The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant reasonably suspected of:
- Cheating;
- Using automated systems or bots;
- Circumventing the entry process;
- Acting fraudulently; or
- Acting contrary to the spirit of the Competition.
11.2 The Promoter may withhold prizes pending investigation.
11.3 The Promoter’s decision regarding disqualification is final.
12. Limitation of Liability
12.1 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
- Any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12.2 Subject to clause 12.1, the Promoter shall not be liable for:
- Any loss, damage, or disappointment suffered by entrants;
- Technical failures or system interruptions;
- Delayed, lost, or incomplete entries; or
- Events outside the Promoter’s reasonable control.
12.3 The Promoter does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of any website or platform used for the Competition.
13. Data Protection and Privacy
13.1 The Promoter will process personal data in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
13.2 Personal data collected may include:
- Name;
- Address;
- Email address;
- Telephone number; and
- Payment information.
13.3 Personal data will be used for:
- Administering the Competition;
- Verifying eligibility;
- Contacting winners; and
- Compliance with legal obligations.
13.4 The Promoter may share personal data with third-party service providers involved in operating the Competition.

14. Intellectual Property
14.1 All Competition materials, branding, logos, and content are owned by or licensed to the Promoter.
14.2 Entrants may not reproduce or exploit Competition content without prior written permission.
15. Consumer Rights
15.1 Nothing in these Terms affects statutory rights under applicable UK consumer law.
15.2 Entrants have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable legislation.
16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
16.1 These Terms and any dispute or claim arising from them shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
16.2 The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction except where mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.
